Not a Weimer... YET.

I know what you're thinking- I'm not a Weimer. My response to that? "YET." I knew I wanted to start a blog again, and there's really no point starting a new one in 8 months when my name changes. 8 months! Some days that seems like it's a million years away because I just can't wait, and other days it seems like time is just FLYING by because of how busy I am.

Come mid-October, life will slow considerably since I'll no longer be working weekends. I'm really looking forward to that- I have learned a valuable lesson that my friend Dora summed up very well, "There's a reason God told us to keep the Sabbath." I am really beginning to believe that. I think that our bodies were designed in such a way that our circadian rhythms are attuned to having two days of general rest.

Even if you're like most of us who really don't get to "rest" all that much on the weekends because of other household chores and errands, the effect of not being on your "regular" work routine those two days is more calming and relaxing than you'd realize. Before you question this, you need to have experienced the seven-day work week for a prolonged amount of time. I am absolutely convinced that even if you are very busy on the weekend, the power of mostly having control over your choice of activities during that time is what constitutes a two-day "break".

With all this relaxation talk, surprisingly, you make more Monday-Morning fatigue for yourself if you sleep in on the weekends than if you get up at your regular time- check it out: http://www.medpagetoday.com/Neurology/APSS/tb/3586

Now that you're in the know, look forward to your weekend!
