That which we take for granted is sometimes that which we should be most thankful for. (Laura Weimer, 2009)
Today's post actually stems from my own ungratefulness. Several weeks ago, I was having a bad day/week at work. While complaining to a dear friend, she replied simply, "Be thankful you HAVE a job." At the time, I was a little bit peeved. I wanted her to focus on MY selfish complaining, I didn't want to be corrected. Besides, I wasn't concerned about my job security. They NEEDED me, or so I thought. Weeks later, now among the ranks of the laid-off, I realize how selfish I can be.
Today, I'm thankful for employment. More specifically, I'm thankful for a hard-working husband that can support both of us until I'm able to find another job, and I'm thankful for the job that God will provide next, in His time.
I'm also thankful for friends that will kick your attitude's butt when you need it.
What are you thankful for today?

don't you hate it when God corrects you through friends, or in my case, a daughter?! :-)
i hope you can find a new job soon! and yes, it's wonderful to have a hard-working husband!
I hate when I want to complain and someone puts it into perspective... but those are the best kind of friends to have around!
Good luck on your job search!!
